Will the NSX be relevant as a 2016 model year?

Let's just say that production begins next year, would it be an effective halo car?

depends on how much honda switch gear they use. and how the dealers market it. I could see acura dealers not knowing what to do with actual customers in their showroom.

You read my comment on the front page, didn't you? About the NSX being an imaginary car?

Would it be an effective Halo car? Honestly? Seriously? Don't think so.

It's as effective as 2002 NSX was brand-new; it'll be cool, it'll be their halo, but it'll be overshadowed by numerous cars that outperform it for cheaper.

Of course I read it, but the car is actually going to be made...

the 2002 NSX was at a time when acura had a clear and focused commitment towards producing enjoyable cars. the only thing acura is committed to these days, is limpdick product.

I feel like this car has had more hype, leaks and general all around talking about before an actual release than even the retro Camaro. I feel like we have been talking about this car for at least 10 years.

I don't think Honda has the chops anymore for a proper supercar, this is going to ride way too heavily on past glory/NSX name recognition. I'll be willing to make a bet that they have ads featuring Senna.

Personally, I think the best place for them to aim is at the M3/M4 and Caymen markets.

This is honestly one of those "I'll believe it when I see it" cars. It's been announced for years (was supposed to be a 2013 model), has been bouncing around the rumor mill/press releases, and was featured in a movie four years ago (shot FIVE years ago). Not until Honda actually starts rolling them down the assembly line will I actually believe it'll be made.

Surround it with ILXs so the people buying the only sporty car Arcura makes get to stare at the NSX while it sits in the show room collecting dust because the i8, 458, and Huracan will outsell it by thousands.

Unless they sell ot for like 80k, which won't happen.

Assuming it ever gets made I doubt it will have the power to compete. And by the looks of it, I don't think it will handle at all like its predecessors. Thus making it useless.

By 2002 the car was 12 years old and getting a long in the tooth.

We have, basically. The new NSX was born out of the Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept back in 2007, and was shown again, basically in it's current form, in 2012. So, by the time the NSX actually reaches the market, it'll have been 8 years since it first hit our "radar"... Frankly, it lost my interest about 3 years ago, and it became completely irrelevant after Porsche, McLaren and Ferrari picked up the ball Acura dropped and ran with it, producing the 918, the P1, and the LaFerrari.
